Half pitched roof designs.

The opposite arrangement to the half hipped roof. It can be thought of as half of a pitched roof or as a more angled flat roof. A combination of a gable and a hip roof pitched roof without changes to the walls with the hipped part at the top and the gable section lower down. Previously with saw tooth design under mono pitch style we saw detached roof slopes that were lower than the highest roof.

Pent roofs are very much like an awning for lower floors designed to keep precipitation at that level away from the house. It is a single sloping roof usually attached to a taller wall. This type of roof provides more options for extending the loft and installing windows allowing a greater amount of natural light into the room. Skillion is also referred to as a shed roof or lean to. A pent roof can refer to any roof type that is below and detached from the top roof. Skillion roofs are mostly used for home additions sheds and porches. A half hipped roof is almost identical to a simple hip roof design but instead the two sides of the roof are shortened creating eaves at the either side of the house.

When choosing roofing to create a roof you need to use a simple rule the denser the structure of the roofing material the smaller the angle of slope of the pitched roof.
